Last Wednesday afternoon, the We R Love Foundation visited the Dallas LIFE Homeless Recovery Center to wrap up our current service project regarding period poverty in the city of Dallas. There, Ms. Pamela Culbertson gave us a tour and explained the numerous services they offer. Dallas LIFE serves hundreds of individuals and takes a holistic approach, helping individuals with childcare, supplies, medical care, and skill development for future employment. For the past few months, We R Love, in partnership with HOSA, a club at The Hockaday School, has been fundraising and gaining support for our project to provide sanitary products to the 55 women served at Dallas LIFE. In this time, we have hosted two successful bake sales, raising $532. Then, we reached out to companies, donors, and sanitary product manufacturers for support. We received interest from Poppy Flowers, Dallas Garden School, and numerous individual donors, ultimately raising $3,450. With this immense support, we provided six months' worth of pads and tampons for the women at Dallas LIFE. We R Love is so proud of what we have been able to accomplish and aims to do more in the future! Stay tuned for our next project...
